The Queen's Procession

a vintage jigsaw made in England by Tower Press (1950+ ?)

As far as I know, the Queen's Procession is a part of the annual ceremony of the State Opening of the Parliament. The Queen as well as several regalia (The Imperial State Crown) are travelling from Buckingham Palace to Westminster. Usually, she uses a less impressive coach than the one you can see on this picture. Therefore - maybe - the jigsaw depicts the Procession from the Palace to the Coronation Ceremony?

The household Cavalry Regiment is a ceremonial regiment of the british army.
It consist of a squadron from each household regiment as well as a squadron from the headquarters. It is mostly seen at "Trooping the Colour".

The Queen is shown with only few of her regalia: The crown and sceptre.
She was proclaimed queen the night, her father died (in Feb. 1952), but was to be crowned queen sixteen months later, in 1953.
