A summer sunrise at Eibsee with the Zugspitze in the background

Photographer Dieter Meyrl's breathtaking landscape photograph perfectly captures the impressive scenery of the Wetterstein Mountains. The Zugspitze is Germany's highest mountain; it is, of course, located in the Alps and is 2,962 meters high.

Swallow's Nest, Crimea

  Ukraine: Ластівчине гніздо

The Swallow's Nest is a decorative castle located at Gaspra, a small spa town between Yalta and Alupka on the Crimean peninsula. It was built between 1911 and 1912, on top of the 40-metre-high Aurora Cliff, in a Neo-Gothic style for Pavel Leonardovich von Steingel, a Russian noble with German roots. The building is compact in size, measuring only 20 m long by 10 m wide.

Restoration of the building began in 1968. The project involved the restoration of a small portion of the castle and the addition of a monolithic console concrete plate to strengthen the cliff.

Swallow's Nest is depicted on a coin of the National Bank of Ukraine.

Summer in the Alps (Castorland)

The Bindalm is a traditionally managed alpine pasture in the Klausbach Valley in Berchtesgaden National Park, known for its impressive backdrop of the Mühlsturzhörner mountains (the so-called Ramsau Dolomites). It can be reached by hiking from Hintersee, where the alpine pasture offers hearty snacks and homemade cheese.

It is always a pleasure to find more information on the www that expands our knowledge of a pitturesque alpine landscape

A Pleasant Evening - by Neil Barry (Illustrator)

 HOP, Scotland

This scene captures the atmosphere of a british village. The White Hart, a charming pub adorned with flowers. In front, two classic cars: a green Triumph and a red Jaguar. They add a touch of vintage elegance.

In 1393, during the reign of King Richard II, a law was passed requiring pubs and inns to have a sign to identify them as official pubs. Many adopted ‘The White Hart’ as their sign as it was the King's personal badge - today it is the fourth most popular pub name in the UK.
