Development process of a very special and almost vintage 700pcs-MB - updated 17.9.2026 and completed

Nature is the theme of a special marathon that started last weekend...

I chose this one and it gave me a heavy one

 Fields near Quito, Sierra region, Ecuador (0°17’ N – 78°41’ W).

Step by step

Located between the Western and Royal Cordilleras, the highlands of the Quito region enjoy the Sierra’s humid and mild climate, which supports the cultivation of grains (corn, wheat, barley) and potatoes.

Although agriculture now accounts for only 9.1% of the GDP of this country of 16 million people, it currently employs 25% of the workforce. It plays a significant role not only in the landscape but also in the country’s history: the agrarian reforms of the 1960s and 1970s, which ended the dominance of the large haciendas owned by Spanish settlers, did not resolve the problem of the unequal distribution of farmland.

The most productive lands—those in the valleys and along the coast, devoted to export crops (bananas, sugarcane, coffee, and cocoa)—remain in the hands of wealthy landowners, while small farmers share the land in the highlands and barely make a living from their crops. However, poverty and inequality are on the decline in this country. Between 2006 and 2016, the poverty rate fell from 37.6% to 22.5% of the population. (source)

Development process of a 2000pcs. "Favole"-jigsaw puzzle - started 25th July 2026 - update: 18th September 2026

A friend and I have the same jigsaw puzzle in our collection. And we’ve had it for at least 15-17 years.

The first brilliant idea: we’ll start assembling it at the same time.

The second brilliant idea: we’ll only work on it during our weekly phone calls.

Crazy? No! Okay, here we go

Day 1 (25th July)

unboxing with Herfried, the Octopus. It was amazing opening the foil and bag for the first time after this jigsaw puzzle has been produced and sealed

and my friend

Day 2 (1st August)

 and my friend

 Day 3 (8th August)

I started to assemble the frame and my friend worked on the mask

Day 4

I managed to complete the frame and moved everything onto two white boards. Day 4 brought some success on the long hair of the lady and the chest of the man.

My friend worked on the mask and the robe of the lady.

 Day 5

Day 6 (4th September)

Day 7 (18th September)

Development process of a very special 500pcs. jigsaw puzzle - completed

A few weeks ago I managed to turn some photographies of our lovely dog (2005-2016)

into watercolour-style pictures.

... just a few clicks later that I found myself turning those watercolour pictures into a collage at puzzleyou.de

I will start assembling it this weekend... 💕

Last year, I saw a collection of MGA Miniverse creative sets being made for the first time and was allowed to take photos of the finished little masterpieces. Thank you very much Sina!

The aim was to combine the individual objects into a collage and to transfer this collage into a 1000-pieces-jigsaw puzzle:

Unboxing on Valentine's day:

and of course we started to assemble "our" jigsaw puzzle:

After a second session we managed to assemble all those tiny jewels

In a final session we will complete the black and dark-grey gaps :-)

500 Pieces

Life of Yoshi - by Linn Schiffmann

 **

In January I visited Art in Pieces to participate in some competitions. My friend gave me the "Live of Yoshi", a 500pcs.-jigsaw puzzle for a test under relaxed conditions at home, not under competitive conditions – but with a stopwatch!

Ready - steady - go!

1:08 hours = this is where my friend and puzzle partner in the couples competition finshed her "Yoshi". I still have a few pieces left ... just a few

Development process of a Van Gogh Collage, Grafika, 1000 pcs.

It is my pleasure to be able to show 15 masterpieces by Vincent Van Gogh on one jigsaw puzzle. The puzzle is on loan, a travelling puzzle. For many years now, our forum has offered the opportunity to send puzzles on a journey. Sometimes it is a single jigsaw puzzle, sometimes it is a package with several puzzles (there have even been packages with many finger exercises for the mega marathons).

With travelling puzzles, the person who sends them on their journey decides whether, for example, the last piece should be signed with the date and nickname.

There have been travelling puzzles that have lasted more than a decade (and are still going) – and travelling puzzles that are over after just a few stops.

This package consists of three jigsaw puzzles, a collage

and two other works by Van Gogh: The Church in Auvers-sur-Oise, 1890 + Red Vineyard at Arles, 1890

I have decided to only do the collage because it really fascinates me ... and here we are

Start was on the 9th February. Assorting frames + the sky and assembling the signature

The outer frame was abit tricky due to false-fits

I assorted again: mainly alls yellow and red pieces. I guess it was a good idea

Development process of some crazy cats :-)

On weekdays there's often less time to work on jigsaw puzzles, but nevertheless I do so - since almost 18 years. It gives me a good time, and helps me unwind from work. Even if there are only 20-50 pieces to find their way, I feel relaxed. This is how it should be.

Last saturday I chose this wonderful christmas present

Crazy Cats ... Lazy Summer Afternoon

... and here we are today

And a few days later

The speedpuzzling event brought some hints to increase the "speed" - I tried them at home.

 completed :-)
