Kiel is the capital and most populous city in the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein.

With a population of around 250,000, it is Germany's largest city on the Baltic Sea.

The city of Kiel was founded in 1233 as Holstenstadt tom Kyle

I can't believe that my previous trip to Kiel to take a cruise with AIDA was already 4 years ago

Since march 2026 a humpback whale stranded four times on four different spots. Screenshot CNN

Since friday, a rescue team tries to safe the whale a remove him from his near-coastal place.

If interested, please watch the livestream of NDR

Vive Notre Dame! by Loup

HEYE Cartoon Classics

Ladies and gentlemen, may you please direct your attention upwards

... because some things happen outside your field of view ...

The guy with the flower is a bit too lustful

May the devil disappear!

A falling angel discussing with a couple - about what?

Please note the artistic performance of the dog, but - seriously - who's a good boy now?

Do we really want to know what's happening here?

Sometimes the heavenly trumpets are too loud for the human ear - and a human face too much for a curious bird.

Feeding birds and little angels

Cheers to the hunters, trying to catch a bishop's mitre

May the devil disappear! Please!

New discipline: church bell rodeo

Downwards or upwards?

The nave is not made for pirates to hoist a pirate flag - seriously!

Okay, this is questionable: a dead witch, chasing the ghost with the axe

Mafalda by Quino

The comic strip artist Quino (Joaquín Salvador Lavado Tejón, 1932-2020) created Mafalda in 1963. He had received a proposal by fellow artist Miguel Brascó, and the comic strip would be a covert advertisement for the "Mansfield" line of products of the Siam Di Tella company.

Mafalda is a six-year-old girl with a great concern for the state of humanity. She often leaves her parents at a loss by asking about mature or complex topics. As an example, she gets chided to concern herself with childlike things instead of asking about China's communism; in response, she pretends to play with bubbles in soapy water only to promptly proclaim that she is done and then ask about China once more
