 I spent the weekend in Walsrode (North of Hannover, Germany) again,

meeting my friends of the german jigsaw puzzle forum. Lots of encounters, great conversations. 

I also had time to do a few small finger exercises again, which I'll show you here.

Queen of the Stacks - by Phat Dog Vintage

 A quilt made of 140 square cloth pieces, artistically sewed by 62 participants during a quilting-event in 2010. Made of old football shirts, flags, household and bed linen and other fabrics in the colours black and yellow. Size 3,40 x 2,4 m

 

I took a photography of this quilt in February 2015

 

 

turned it into a 100-pcs.-jigsaw puzzle and gave it to a friend. Now. almost 9 years later, I was able to assemble it.

Grape Harvest, Middle Ages

Illustrated in a so-called 'book of hours', this grape harvest symbolizes the autumn.

Approx. late 15th or early 16th century.

The photography of the illustration was cut by hand.

 Patrick Hughes: Moving Spaces

 "The experience of seeing a Patrick Hughes sculptured painting in reality

 is really to experience unreality and the paradox of illusory space and movement." (source) 

This is exactly what I experienced today! In fact, photographies can't give you the thrill. You must see them, walk in front of them to see, what they do with your sight.  In fact, I tried to catch various angles of view.

No! In fact this mazy ornamented carpet is painted on the ceiling and you look above.

Several pieces of Art are marked as "Painting" - they are painted in oil directly on board.

The other artworks are painted, too. They are so-called "3D-Multiples". These are painted in oil on flat paper. Th finished paper is then reproduced digitally, hand-assembled on board and hand-finished. Mr. Hughes publishes four 'multiples' each year.

The Venice-pieces are 'collages', printed on archival paper. Details like water reflections and flat ends are painted by hand.
