The "Place du Tertre"

is a square in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, France. Only a stroll away from the Basilica of the Sacré Cœur, it is near the summit of the city's elevated Montmartre quarter. The Place du Tertre was the heart of the prestigious Benedictine Montmartre Abbey, established in 1133 by King Louis VI. Montmartre Abbey thrived through the centuries and until the French Revolution.

 I love Paris.

That's why I'm so grateful to have the chance to assemble this extraordinary jigsaw puzzle on loan.

And here we go: assorting by colours and frame

After working in the garden on a cozy saturday, I really managed to assemble some more pieces

now I work on the nightsky, piece by piece

There are puzzle pieces with branches and lights (assorted by shape on top of the picture), and plain blue pieces (on the right side). Will be a hard excercise of patience and motivation

the final day

getting along with the trees and trying a speedpuzzling mode to complete blue pieces :-D

... just turned the macarons to see if I made any mistakes... obviously I didn't

By the way: I assembled this one not by the shape of the pieces, but by the colours. Started with violet, then turned to green, sand, blue, yellow and finally red :-D

What a stunning view from the three-wing building of the United Nations (UN) across the military academy and the Champ de Mars towards the Eiffeltower.

Behind the Eiffeltower are about 6 km of Parisian quarters named "arrondissements" and the skyscrapers of "La Defénse". Imagine that the river Seine crosses those arrondissements two times between the landmarks Eiffeltower>La Defénse

"Les Monuments de Paris" by 123 RF

with Notre-Dame de Paris, Pont Alexandre III, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Basilique de Sacre Coeur, un Bateau Mouche sur la Seine and a detail of a sculpture of the Pont Alexandre III.

The Pont Alexandre III is a deck arch bridge. It connects the Champs-Élysées quarter with those of the Invalides and Eiffel Tower. The bridge is widely regarded as the most ornate, extravagant bridge in the city. It was built between 1896 and 1900 and has been classified as a French monument historique since 1975. It is named after Tsar Alexander III.

The Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile, often called simply the Arc de Triomphe, is one of the most famous monuments in Paris, standing at the western end of the Champs-Élysées at the centre of Place Charles de Gaulle, formerly named Place de l'Étoile - the étoile or "star" of the juncture formed by its twelve radiating avenues. The Arc de Triomphe was designed by Jean Chalgrin in 1806.

Bateaux Mouches are open, long, and often glass-covered excursion boats that provide visitors to Paris with a view of the center of the city from along the river Seine.

The Basilica of Sacré Cœur de Montmartre, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur, is a Catholic church and minor basilica in Paris dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It was formally approved as a national historic monument by the National Commission of Patrimony and Architecture on December 8, 2022.  The basilica was designed by Paul Abadie, whose Neo-Byzantine-Romanesque plan was selected from among seventy-seven proposals. Construction began in 1875 and continued for forty years under five different architects. Completed in 1914, the basilica was formally consecrated in 1919 after World War I.
