The Majesties at Admirality Arch

A LUMAR Coronation jigsaw showing Queen Elisabeth II and Prince Philipp passing the Admirality Arch.

The Arch was built in 1910 by Edward VII. in memory of his mother Queen Victoria. It is an elegant pass-by from Trafalgar Square to Buckingham Palace and is closed for the public on any occasion except special services. It is said that there is a nose of stone added to one of the Arches in memory of Sir Wellington and that every mounted Royal Soldier would rub this nose for good look :-)

The Jigsaw shows a rare photography of King George VI. with his two daughters on a horse ride.

Georg VI was inaugurated in 1936 and died 1952
Princess Margaret was born 1930 and may be 10 years on this photography (she died 2002, the same year her mother died, only 1 month before).
Princess Elisabeth - on the white horse - was born 1926 and may be 12-14 years.

The Adoration of the Magi - by Gentile da Fabbriano (1370/85 - 1427)
Renaissance painter who worked for noble men as well as the pope and kings.
The Painting "Adoration" was painted in 1483 and can now be seen at the Gallery of Uffici, Firence.

Measures: 1,73 x 2,20 - tempera on wood. The banker Palla Strozzi gave order for his private chapel.
