Milan Cathedral from the Square
it took almost sixhundred years to complete the cathedral (1386-1965) which is one of the five largest churches in the world.

It is said that a nail from the True Cross - the one cross where Jesus was executed - was given to this Cathedral. A small light above the apse shows the place where the nail is stored.

On top of the main building's spire is a 'small' gilded sculpture of Virgin Mary, called Madonnina. She is almost 4,2m tall.
