This wonderful watercolour painting shows the port of Flensburg. The city is the northernmost independent city of Germany and was founded in the early 13th century. On the painting you can see the church spire of 13th c. built St. Marys;
and just before the church and the tall tree is the Kompagnietor (1602)
and the "Alexandra", a steam ship.
