Painting by Claude Monet

Ca. 1872
Oil on canvas, H. 48; W. 75 cm
Musée d'Orsay, Paris

"Regattas at Argenteuil was painted in natural light, because tin tubes and portable easels allowed artists to leave their studios and paint outside. Monet sought to capture the fluidity of air and water and the way they changed with the light." (source)

Finished 23rd/24th November 2013 during a meeting in Hamburg

I travelled by train - just 3 hours of fun with others,
talking about travelling by train, the iPad and other stuff :-)

Almost 20 enthusiasts met to talk, laugh and assemble jigsaw puzzles.
In Hamburg I took advantage of buying some jigsaw puzzles at the Litraton

royal visitors :-)))) this present made me laugh to tears ...
I am a fan of the royal family ... as you might know ;-D
at the end of our meeting we started a "battle" between Prince Charles and his mother and guess what: Elizabeth won! Seems like it was a good omen: may her reign last :-)

I had so much fun and meanwhile assembled 13 jigsaw puzzles incl. 1110 pieces

Church of our Lady, Dresden, Germany
(photography taken by Kirsch)

The colours are really strange as the illumination of the church is similar to the so-called "blue hour", when the sun has already set, but the sky is covered with sunlit pink clouds... seems like there was a bit too much work on the digital data :-D .... anyway, it was pure fun assembling this Ravensburger jigsaw puzzle.

Just take a look at the depth of focus. You can detect so many details on just these twelve pieces
