Photographer and age unknown, but I found something interesting on 'Math in media'  (scroll down a bit)

A Wentworth Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle in a green box with 18 whimsies. We collected the animal whimsies, took a photo and converted the colours to show the shape of the gaps:
