It depicts Medusa, a mythological creature with mystical power. It was said that you will turn into stone once you took a look at her. Medusa was beheaded by the greek hero Perseus and Pegasus, the winged horse, jumped off her throat. Okay, sometimes Mythology frightens...

The terracotta was made in the late 6th century BC. and is on display in the archaeological museum in Syracuse, Sicily, Italy.
